USDEW: understanding the warrant payoff.

Key findings

Methodology summary · October 5, 2026

  • The simplified USDEW expiry payoff is the stock price minus the exercise price, with a floor of zero.
  • Early redemption, cashless exercise and dilution can change the outcome before expiry.

A warrant adds a contractual claim on a future share. Its value depends on the stock price, the exercise terms and the time remaining. The company’s reported token NAV is only one input.

The basic payoff

The listed USDEW warrants are modeled in the dashboard with an $11.50 exercise price and a June 25, 2031 expiry. The relevant prospectus and warrant terms control; a simplified model does not replace them. Read the prospectus ↗

Gross expiry payoff per warrant = max(share price at expiry − exercise price, 0)

If a hypothetical warrant costs $3.00 and has an $11.50 strike, the simple expiry breakeven is $14.50. At a $20 terminal share price, its gross payoff would be $8.50, or about 2.83 times the initial warrant cost. That is gross terminal value, not a 283% profit. The example excludes fees, taxes, early redemption and any changes to contract terms.

Why the expiry chart is incomplete

Early redemption can change the investment’s path before the stated expiry. A notice, cashless exercise provision or make-whole schedule can make the actual outcome different from holding a simple option until 2031. The dashboard includes a call-trigger tracker, but it is an observation aid, not a determination that a redemption is legally available or has been announced.

A trigger watch must use completed trading-session observations. An intraday price above a threshold does not establish a qualifying closing price. Contractual lookback rules and other conditions still need to be checked against the applicable filing.

Exercise changes the capital structure

Cash exercise can add both shares and exercise proceeds. A fully diluted per-share analysis therefore needs to consider both sides. Simply adding warrant shares to the denominator while ignoring cash proceeds can misstate the result. Cashless exercise has different mechanics and should be modeled from its own terms.

Private sponsor warrants are separate instruments. The dashboard lists their counts and strikes separately; the public quote for USDEW should not be treated as a quoted price for those private warrants.

Use a scenario, not a single target

Compare stock and warrant outcomes at several terminal stock prices. Then ask what happens if redemption occurs earlier, if the token treasury changes, or if additional shares are issued. A visually steep payoff line expresses sensitivity to assumptions, not confidence in an outcome.
